Swoon-worthy dining rooms from Domino

I just called Conde Nast to switch my Domino subscription. "The last issue you should receive is the March issue," said the operator. How sad! It also spurred me to continue my mad-hunt to gather all the images I can from the Domino website. Today I'm focusing on dining rooms. Being a huge advocate of food consumption - I spend quite a lot of time in them. These are particularly lovely. In which would you take your dinner?

This one's for my little sister, a lover of all things red.

I really like the contrast of the dark wood table with the white chairs.

this wouldn't technically count as eating dinner on the couch...

I'm so jealous of that sunny window seat.

The fabric used for the drapes and the cushions is Pottery Barn's Serafina, available by the yard.

I like all the cubbies on the wall in this room.

Perhaps my favorite dining room of them all...

Check out Decorology's guest post on "Keep Domino Alive"

I was honored when Katie over at Keep Domino Alive asked me to guest post. Here's my little contribution. See more at: Keep Domino Alive Go visit and see lots of other lovely Domino images from some awesome bloggers. Thanks Katie!

It still really has not sunk in yet. I guess when it comes to the stages of grief I am still stuck in denial. The magazine is going, but why why why do away with the website? I cannot imagine going to dominomag.com and getting an error message. I remember when Blueprint folded they tried to keep it alive via the Bluelines blog, but sadly that didn’t last very long.

Grieving aside, I have pulled a few beautiful images from the site to commemorate the magazine that served as a tableau for my dream house. Ok, houses. I went searching with the intention creating a collection of images illustrating one of my favorite styles- French eclectic- but as you can see, that idea didn’t last long. There was too much beauty; so I leave you with a potpurri. *weep*

Join the fight to save Domino!

You walk (ok, speed walk), to the mailbox. Today is the day you usually open it to find the new issue of Domino! The cover-- so enticing, so exciting! What is inside this month? Gorgeous pictures and products! Oh, the glossy therapy of all the serene homes! You force myself to wait to open it (maybe a teensy peek) till you're nice and cozy on the couch and free from any potential distractions. Mug of vanilla chai and lemon cake in hand, let the bliss begin!

But wait...there is no Domino in the mailbox! Welcome to reality. Domino is folding. Sad, I know, that's why we need to join together to save it!

Join these modern day Dames in their crusade.

One blog is Save Domino, Betsy C.'s personal crusade.

The other is We Love Domino, brought to you by Kate, former Apartment Therapy Unplggd blogger.

SAY IT AIN'T SO, DOMINO!!! Domino Folding

I just got word that Conde Nast's Domino is folding! This is a sad day. :( Supposedly the website is going away too. Wow, I'm still in shock...

*My favorite thing that comes in my mailbox*

This just in from NY Magazine:
UPDATE: "This decision to cease publication of the magazine and its website is driven entirely by the economy,” Condé Nast CEO Chuck Townsend says in a press release that went out just now. “Although readership and advertising response was encouraging in the early years, we have concluded that this economic market will not support our business expectations.”
