A little showcase of artist homes

Wow. What a long week it has been. On a whim I was looking at some artist house tours and decided to share. Have a great weekend!

Shelagh Stewart's bedroom

"Artists Vik Muniz and Janaina Tschäpe find happiness in a Brooklyn home that has morphed from garage to bachelor pad to bohemian family retreat"

"...painter Anne Becker's peaceful New York apartment with global style"

...of the two above images: "Elizabeth Chapin is not afraid of bright hues. 'I love candy colors, both in my work and in my house,' says the portrait artist, who shares a Victorian home in Austin, Texas" with her family.

Trendy, modern, eclectic homes

These homes are a lot of fun to look at, but do you think you could live in such a stylized abode?

I like the idea of wallpaper on the ceiling. The comic book upholstery is cool too

I like angling my bed, and this bedroom is wonderfully calm

A modern chef's dream!

The mirror on the floor is sort of like a piece of furniture, which is a good idea in smaller rooms

Interior designer portfolio

It's been awhile since I featured a portfolio on Decorology, so I thought I'd mix things up. And boy, do I have a good one for you! Comin atcha is the work of renowned interior designer David Netto. I love his modern retro sensibility, and while I'm not usually into eclectic decorating, he does it really well!

wow...looks like this house might actually be lived in...

I'm feeling a tree in my bedroom...

This cozy modern home belongs to Netto's ex-fiance, actress Ione Skye

Another blue striped rug.. I want one!

I like the big photograph of the room behind the table...it opens the space up.

A gorgeous apartment!

I watched the movie "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" a few weeks ago with a friend and was surprised at the gorgeous apartment/studio of Alex, Jessica Biel's character. The apartment has an eclectic feel with some traditional elements thrown in. The walls are painted light yellow, light blue, and are covered in paintings and photography. My clothes are nowhere near nice enough to hang on an open rack, but I like the look, especially with the exposed brick wall. I also like how the bed was visually separated by two curtains hanging at each end corner.
