If you've never checked out http://www.1stdibs.com/, you must! It's a treasure-trove of fabulous antiques. Today, I got an e-newsletter from them with such fabulous new items on their shelves that I thought I would divert from the blog I was working on and quickly share a couple of them with you!
From 1st Dibs: 1960'S clear and blue hand-blown circle glass chandelier by J.T. Kalmar. 9 lights. How fun would this be in a young couple's home or a spa retreat?
Close-up of J.T. Kalmar Chandelier.
From 1st Dibs: An Important Overmantle Mirror. English. Circa 1755. A very rare late George II giltwood overmantle mirror in the Rococco manner. The original carving of floral and rocaille work and elements of a fox, a rooked goat and squirrel appear to be in original gilt surface.
Someday when I have a "serious" house with "serious" antiques, I will own something like this. Beautiful.Close-up of squirrel detail.
From 1st Dibs: Crystal and Brass Hanging Fixture by Fontana Arte. Italy. Circa 1960. 24-light fixture of polished brass with 24 brilliant blue crystal fin-shaped attachments. Rare model with large expansion and meticulous craftsmanship.
How fun is this lighting fixture? It really is timeless.
Close-up detail of light fixture.
Jacques Adnet Glass Ball Lamp. France. 1950s. We had a big crystal ball in the house growing up and this lamp reminds me of it!
From 1st Dibs: Kalmar Chandelier. Austria. 1950s-60s. Outstanding, restored Kalmar chandelier. This one is made in both Germany & Austria. This was just so pretty that I had to post it.Close-up of chandelier. Just as beautiful from underneath.
Close-up of chandelier. Love the crystals! Love 'em, Want 'em, Gonna Dream About 'em!
Happy Wednesday!
