~Gemma Comas~

Well, it must be known I am a huge fan of the talented photographer Gemma Comas and also lucky enough to gotten a little email interview with her. Question 1: Tell us a little about yourself and where your from? I am originally from Barcelona, Spain and have been living in NY for 16 years

2. Did you always want to be a photographer since a young age? Yes, since I was little, photography has always been my passion; when I was a kid photography was like magic . Now that I am older and making a living from it, I still think that it is magical to be able to capture forever what you see with your eyes. I feel very privileged to make a living from something that is my passion.


3. What inspired you to become one? I don't really know. My godfather had a darkroom and when I was around 3 years old he would show me how it worked . I guess the magic started there.




4. So where and how did you get started? I studied photography in Barcelona but I really learned about all aspects of photography assisting other photographers. The transition from being an assistant to a professional photographer is not easy . It takes a lot of persistence and when it is the right time, it finally happens.

5. Is there any special thanks to anyone for helping you get where you are today? There are a lot of people who helped me in my career and I still get help and support from my closest friends. They know who they are, I do not want to leave anybody out....
