Yikes!

Some readers sent me a note to tell me that they are having trouble viewing/loading An Indian Summer when using Mac and some specific browsers. While I hyperventilate and google for help (read desperate help!) to figure out why this might be happening and what I can do to resolve the issue, please be so kind to take the online survey (look left. since the survey is on the left sidebar. first thing on top. can't miss it) and let me know if you have been having similar issues reading this blog.

What will really help me:

1. Do take the survey even if you can read An Indian Summer alright (will help me see the glass half full and stuff...)

2. Send me an email if you have any comments or additional info (like- since when this has been happening etc) or ANY suggestion to help figure out this freaking issue

Many thanks to folks who wrote to me. And profuse thanks to folks who will now respond to the survey. And eternally in debt to the person who tells me how to resolve this bugging bug!

How exciting it is for me to see white rooms with green as an accent colour. It is such a fresh look that always attracts me. These are just a collection of some of my favourite images. I especially love the top one which was recently featured on Desire to Inspire blog showing the impact of adding green plants back into our interiors.

For my sisters...

"There is one friend in the life of each of us who seems not a separate person, however dear and beloved, but an expansion, an interpretation, of one's self, the very meaning of one's soul."

Oh Zara, why do you taunt me!

Zara is a staple to many budget-conscious girls here in the city, but the only thing we can adorn with Zara are our closets and ourselves. Across the pond, girls can adorn their entire apartment in the awesome and affordable goods offered up at Zara Home. I've yet to hear any news of them giving us a little love in the states, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

oh I'd love to have a rain forest in the middle of my apartment

I LOVE this hutch, but it's not something they actually sell

Art Nouveau tea towels!!!

Lots of pretty knobs, hooks, and hardware.

Inspired

I have walking pneumonia. This week has been really rough. I am going crazy now that I have started to feel a little better but not nearly well enough to leave the house. Since I can't get out of the house (shop) or work on any of my house projects, I decided to have a little internet fun.

I really like the fabric from the post below. I love the color ways and the fun print. It sort of reminds me of my blog banner. Lots of orange, green and turquoise. I thought it would be fun to build a guest room based on these colors.

I've seen a lot of guest rooms lately done with two twin beds and an oversized nightstand in between. I like the look.

The room above is really pretty, but it's maybe a little plain. Granted, my mind's a little foggy right now, but I remember reading somewhere that Kate Spade said that you should put really strong colors and patterns in guest rooms. Something that you love, but that you know you couldn't stand seeing for more than a month straight. But also something fun enough that your guests will be entertained. The crazy color combo in this fabric will do just the trick.

Upon closer examination of the eBay auction, there are only two yards of this fun print available. That's just enough for a few accents though.

I'm thinking two matching boudoir pillows with orange or turquoise ball fringe.

Maybe this great burnt orange duvet cover from Pottery Barn folded up at the foot of the bed? I love all the French knots.

White linens with chocolate brown embroidery from Restoration Hardware.

Another accent pillow. This one's from Twinkle Living.
A DIY upholstered head board in turquoise linen with white nail head trim.

And my beloved X benches flanking the bottom of the beds. This time in a fun brown and white zebra.

Also from Ballard Designs, this awesome and graphic green trellis wallpaper. Talk about a statement!

This beautiful faux bamboo vintage Baker chest would go between the two twins.

I love this beautiful lamp from Crate and Barrel.

And this gorgeous leaning floor mirror from Z Gallerie.
Here's all of it put together. What do you think?

Koko

While researching for the next On Demand! post [yup, another one coming up soon! something to do with babies and kids...], I came across this crazy eclectic collection from Koko. Lots of inspiration from India - in design, colors, textures and fabric techniques.

Another section of Koko's collection will be part of my next On Demand! post. Keep Reading!

2 photographers, double the interior inspiration

I was so happy to come across these two portfolios. They're each different, but are simply beautiful to see. Patricia Burke is a home and garden photographer out of New Jersey, and Joe Schmelzer works out of California.

More of Patricia's work can be seen at her website.

Check out more of Joe's work at his website.
