In conversation with...

...My Blog.

Me: Umm, hello blog

My Blog: Well, hello! About time you updated me this week..

Me: Oh well, I know. But what to do; I am not getting enough sunshine, and..

My Blog: Not that I am particularly interested, but go on (blog sigh in the background)

Me: And, its so cold, there is so much fog, I can't see anything outside, I can't drive anywhere, and Mr. Shaking Head is traveling so I am bored, and there is no sun, and it's so cold..

My Blog: Whoa! Enough already! It's lovely to hear about your diminishing chirp factor, but I have a job to do here. Now, how about updating me, like pronto?

Me: What? Sure, I mean...sure, but I am feeling blue. i.e. when I am feeling blue, all I have to do, is take a look..

My Blog: Hey hey! Do not sing that song all over me again! Here, look at this. It's one of your favorites. Get inspired woman, and get back to work.

Me: Ah, such is life. Song sung blue, everybody knows one. Song sung..

My Blog: Psst..hello, readers, wohoo, yup, you guys. Oh alright! Ladies and Gentlemen! That is polite, right? Now, can you please send some sunshine her way before I hang (myself)? Pretty please?
And yes, do take a look at her pick of rooms today...no marks for guessing the theme.

Me: Well, green is a kind of a blue. They are from the same family. They are practically cousins. And then when there is no sunshine, green looks like blue. So there.

P.S: Me: Did you see what a bully my blog is? Let the sun shine, and I'll go and tweak its html - change the format, update the design, teach it a lesson! Just wait and watch.
(evil, but righteous laughter in the background..)

Dream a little dream...

for me

Sweet dreams till Morocco finds you

Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you

but in your dreams

whatever they be

dream a little dream for me

Did you dream?

Color Burst and Wandering Mind

I am dealing with a wandering mind this week. My mind has a grown a mind of its own and has been going here and there and everywhere. Which is why it has become somewhat difficult for me to put together a comprehensive post [or do anything else that requires concentration]. But. I can not leave you without some interior inspiration as another hot summer week starts. That just does not feel right. Let my mind continue to do the thinking bit. Sending a burst of colors for your bedrooms from my heart. :-)

Will be back with more substantial eye candy as the week progresses and my mind rests. Come and meet me again this week. And 'Knock' on the comments section so that I know you visited.

Take a deep breath and...

Be Calm.

I need to do some deep breathing
and, Relax.

As I frantically try to set up everything for the bazaar
New bottlenecks come up
While my explorer runs some god forsaken thing called active scripts
and nicely jams up my internet

If I had my way
I would turn all the red tape in the world to green tape
Don't know if that would help too much
But at least it would be green...
...and eco friendly

Totally random. I know.
This burst of randomness happens
when I am very happy
or very stressed

What calms me
is
looking at images like these

Coz, I too have white couches
And through these images
I appreciate their future potential

Where am I headed
If I feel calm
By looking at nicely done interiors

Wherever it is
The one consolation I have is
That at the least, the place would be
Aesthetically pleasing

Ha!

Vibrant Hues!

How could I resist this? There was no possible way! :-)

Julie Evans is a New York City based artist who has exhibited her work extensively around the world. Using Indian ornamentation and traditional miniature paintings as inspiration, Julie uses a Spirograph on wood panels or paper to come up with these exquisite paintings. She is a recent recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship to India and Nepal where she researched Indian miniature painting.

Look out for her upcoming exhibitions in 2008!

Iran

I came across this photographer's work on Flickr, and kept coming back to his intense images of his beautiful country - Iran. A country rich in art, architecture, poetry, calligraphy and handicrafts, among other things. And, Abbas has captured all this seamlessly in his photographs...

Imagine such rich colors and craft in your home! You can view more of Abbas's work here to get design inspiration from the Middle East.
