Huge Ottoman Tray

I've been on the lookout for an oversized tray for our ottoman and finally found a cheap one at PB Teen of all places.

This is definitely the best price I've seen on a tray this size (nearly 30x30").

Looks like the white is sold out (available finishes are espresso and honey, below) - but this would be an easy project for a can of Rustoleum or Krylon.

How about adding a DIY monogram? Or maybe you're brave and you'd be willing to try your hand at decoupage? Or how about snakeskin contact paper (found via Domestikated Life)?

You just might end up with the tray version of this lovely table from decorator Lindsey Coral Harper.

Pier 1 Side tables

I recently had some store credit at Pier 1, so I went in looking for some accessories and came out with a pair of black side tables.

Side1

They were on clearance for $40 each. And I love them more each day. They are the perfect size for my sofa and the wall space I had to work with.

Gray Linen Storage Benches

I made a late-night run to Target last night to pick up a couple picture frames for my above-the-sofa-art and what do you think I spied in the clearance section??

My favorite gray linen storage ottomans marked down 50% to $39.99!

I was so tempted to buy a pair of these for my girls' room to put at the foot of their twin beds. I think it would be adorable to add some ribbon trim in a fun, punchy color.

There were still four benches left at my neighborhood store, so I decided to sleep on it - but I'm sure they won't last long at that price!

Dwell Sale

Been waiting for your favorite DwellStudio item to go on sale? Now's the time.

Enter: SALEONSALE09 for an additional 25% off sale items. Some favorites on sale now:

And don't forget to check Bluefly, eBay and the Anthro sale room if you're looking for an item not on sale at on the Dwell website...

Two Headboards, Fit for a King (size bed)

If anyone is looking for an amazing and unique headboard in king size and has $524.95, I say go for this beauty from Anthropologie.
{or you could buy a t-shirt there for the same price}

After about 0.002 seconds of admiring this gem, my fabric radar went off and I realized that is the same orangey-red/persimmon fabric on the famous and fabulous Asrid chair. This picture of the fabric here on the chair helps to give you a sense of the scale of the headboard. Big and beautiful.

Just please don't tell me about it if you do end up buying the bed.
{jealous}

Also up for your consideration...this ($749.95 for a king)

Which has a striking resemblance to this. Though definitely not as cool.

Great Knock-off

I was floored when Bryn posted about this Pier 1 console table last week.

Would you believe this beauty only costs $39? A great buy...

GORGEOUS Penguin Classics

Are you a book junkie like me?

Remember last week when I posted about these great books from the Selby? Yeah, the French ones that I still really want even though I don't really understand French.

I knew the book covers reminded me of other books I had seen online, but couldn't remember where.

Then I saw this post on A Little Sussy, that reminded me of this post on Design*Sponge. Ah, yes. The gorgeous Penguin Classics with covers designed by Coralie Bickford-Smith.
The limited edition books were published by Penguin UK and were originally offered only at the UK-based bookstore, Waterstone's. The Design*Sponge post has the link to the books where they were sold for about $32 each. Despite the price setback, I was disappointed to discover the books are not on the Waterstone's website anymore. Sold out maybe? I was so bummed.

BUT! After poking around on the internet and searching for the books' ISBNs, I discovered that Indigo Books out of Canada now sells the series. The great part? They are on sale for $14.99!!

The best part? The price is listed in Canadian dollars, so the books are a little more than $11 US each! So exciting, right? Some of the best titles, all wrapped up in the prettiest covers you've ever seen. Heavenly.

Sale Round Up

One of the (few) upsides to a tanking economy is that there seems to be a lot of sale items in stores right now. Here are a few of my favorites.

FROM BALLARD DESIGNS

Green Suzani duvet ($69.99 for the queen)

This indoor/outdoor rug ($94.99) would be great under a dining room table.

As would this indoor/outdoor rug ($159.99 for 8x11)

Absolutely love this set of four scalloped plates (in your choice of green or white for $39.99).

Set of nine astronomy prints ($299.99). These are too pricey for me, even on sale. But I think they are great inspiration. It would be so easy to recreate this look with astronomy maps from eBay and some IKEA frames.

This is a cool take on the sunburst mirror ($129.99)

FROM POTTERY BARN

Who here doesn't love a good bentwood chair? I really like these stools ($149.99).

I've been loving the Priscilla daybed ($499.99) for a while. Still out of my price range for something I don't have room for. But totally gorgeous, nonetheless.

Velvet boudoir pillows ($9.99). I love me some velvet throw pillows. Don't forget to add your monogram.

Greek Key bolster pillows ($19.99)

Moroccan towels (only available in the blue for $6.99)

Keep all your bathroom clutter corralled with this beautiful bath tray ($19.99).

Monthly journal set ($49.99). Seems pricey, I know. But what a nice gift for a graduating senior or a newlywed or anyone embarking on a new adventure.

I am in the middle of The Brothers Karamazov (holy 900 pages, Batman!) and could really use a decent bookmark like this engraved one ($5.99).

Inlaid mirror ($169.99). It's hard for me to explain just how tempted I am by this mirror. I love inlaid details. And the black and white would look amazing in my dining room.

Chanukah has come and gone, but these holiday tapers ($5.99) would make for some seriously chic birthday cake candles!

FROM WEST ELM

The coveted diamond jute rug is finally on sale (the 9x12 is only $239!).

The jute and wool blend in this rug ($199 for the 8x10) makes for a softer feel underfoot and for crawling babies.

These pom-pom pillows ($4.99) are really cute, and not just for a kids room, though that would be adorable.

These towel holders ($9.99-$19.99) are so awesome. They almost look like faux horn or bakelite. Love them.

Do you know of any noteworthy sale items out there?
