Sarah Atkinson art

I am so in love with these pieces.  I have found more and more lately that I really think that a great piece of art makes a space or room complete.  I think that art is one of those things that is sometimes overlooked in a space.  But a great piece that makes you smile every time you walk into the room, even if you don't realize it is an amazing contributor.

Grey in the bedroom..

I am in love with the butterfly sculpture in this room.. But what this room really reminds me of is this light that I really want but cannot figure out why or where I would put it..

A little tangent - some awesome design on the silver screen

I saw Sherlock Holmes a while ago in Boston visiting my friend Liz, and we both ended up drooling over more than Robert Downey Jr. Both of us being RISD grads, the art at the end credits left us in our seats while audience rolled out. Here are some great screenshots I found on Graphic Exchange. The end sequence was done by a company called Prologue, which coincidentally enough, another RISD friend of mine used to work for in LA. You can read about their process and see more concepts at the post on Graphic Exchange.

The board

Rachel McAdams was great in this role too - but I like all her stuff (a bit of a girl crush)

So, if you ever watch the movie stay tooned for the great work of art that is the end credits!

Jimmie Martin Ltd- Wall art

I am not a huge fan of wallpaper.. I admit it! But this is different. First of all the flat is amazing. Second how cool are the pieces that you can put in your own place. Check them out on their site here and check out the article about them here.

Pheromone by Christopher Marley - Beautiful Bugs

I have been a fan of the amazing pieces that Christopher from Pheromone creates for a few years now. I have never looked at bugs and insects in such a way. They are beautiful! Between his book, facebook page, website and sales to the best home stores across the US and Canada what can I say - he is making us all love bugs. Each piece is a unique and wonderful view into the beautiful world of nature.

Adding a piece from any of his collections makes a room like an interesting curiosity shop. I have used them often in jobs just to keep things interesting, every space needs something to make it memorable, and bugs like these are definitely memorable!

Textured wood flooring and Art - simply perfect

I am in love with the floors in these rooms. I cannot imagine how they got to this point but I cannot get enough of them. The Herringbone pattern in the other room is amazing, the wall texture and the simplicity of the furnishings makes it all work perfectly.
