Unique home decor and some good gift ideas!

Thought I'd share with you Inglenook decor, which I recently discovered. The shop looks like it has lots of pretty stuff for all decor styles - modern vintage, shabby chic, and lots of great Christmas gifts.

Here are some things I thought were particularly cute:

love these canvas buckets!

The store also features some really cool vintage/flea market finds.

Got a small kitchen in which to prepare Thanksgiving? Here are some really great ideas!

I found this gallery on Better Homes and Gardens, and I wanted to share with you my favorite ideas! Hope you see something inspiring!

I always have lots of hooks on hand because they are a life saver in kitchens. NYC apartments have maybe 4 cabinets on average, though I've dealt with less, and having items hanging from the walls is VERY handy, and makes for a nice cottage look.

Flea market finds like the section of iron fence, or the grate as a pot rack, make for inexpensive DIY projects.

Instructions for the image above - I'm a huge fan of using jars (after all - you buy the spaghetti sauce, eat-it, and then your left with a handy organizational system)

-"Adapt an idea from the garage workbench, but instead of storing nails, nuts, and bolts, store coffee beans or other goodies. Collect identical glass jars with screw-top lids (spaghetti sauce jars, for example) and screw the lids to the underside of a wood shelf. Allow enough space between the jars for easy access.

To keep track of a variety of coffee beans, use your computer to print labels on white paper and have them laminated at a print shop. Or use purchased tags and write the variety names by hand. Tie the tags to the jars with twine."

A great solution to a common problem, (too many cookbooks, not enough book shelves in the kitchen). Bring in a small bookshelf and top with stone (this you may need to make a trip to the hardware store to purchase and cut) - so now you have storage and more work surface.

Making a caddy (this one was a tool box given a new paint job), keeps things you use everyday handy and portable while cooking.

So, could any of these ideas work for you? Any ideas on how to adapt them for other uses around the house?

Use flea market finds no matter what your style!

Even more than buying something new, I enjoy the thrill of finding something for a steal and turning it into something you could never find in stores. I think that is partially the essence of shopping at flea markets and thrift stores. However, it doesn't mean you're stuck decorating a vintage or shabby chic style.

The frames are all flea market - and the wine jugs as well

Collections always make interesting decor.

If you want to display a range of things but keep it looking neat make sure they all share a characteristic - like color. Notice the platter behind the bowl is hung backwards with twine to display the artist's name.

The eclectic look is perfect for decorating on a budget. Found textiles look almost glamorous when mixed and matched like above. The decorative piece of iron on the wall is also salvaged.

Cheap and Chic - Simple ways to make your home look styled and so you

I had to share these really cute and summery ideas with y'all.

You can create nice displays with mix n' match flea market or basement finds.

A large mirror can act as a light source, and looks more casual when propped on the floor. Flea markets are the way to go if you don't have a large mirror. I found one for $20 once, all I did was paint the green frame white and it looks great now!

Ad flavor to your space by accessorizing to your heart's content. Mixing patterns and textures is fine as long as they color coordinate.

This is a cool idea I've seen a lot, but my books aren't really that colorful - but you can try arranging them by color and turn your bookcase into art.

Single blooms can add more interest than a formal bouquet, in my opinion.

Memorabilia and collections are best displayed all together, like in this salon style wall.

Install wainscoting along the entirety of one wall for a custom headboard look.

Painting a stair runner and varnishing it is easier to clean than carpet - plus you have freedom to do whatever you want! Masking tape is your friend here.
